FAVOURITE PLACES: CARDIFF ARCADES
When it comes to a foodie perspective, to me, the arcades offer so much variety. From the cafes and deli's, there really is so much to choose from. You really could get lost walking around the seemingly never-ending and winding paths. The food places on offer here are an excellent antidote to the overly commercial place that Cardiff has sadly turned into.
There are so many great and reasonably priced places to eat, from New York Deli, The Plan and many others (those are the ones I like the most). If like me, you love nothing more than hanging out in a coffee shop, then you are spoilt for choice. Atlantic Coffee and Coffee Barker, are just some of those perfect places for people watching and world domination plotting.
However, for me, there is one place that stands head and shoulders above the rest - Madame Fromage. They sell everything you wish you could eat every day and never put on weight - pies, macaroons, cupcakes, cheese, and so many other treats. But the main event really is their cafe. The food is so amazing, you never ever leave disappointed. The portions are crazily huge, and yet, so fairly priced. And when I started to get obsessed by crepes, they started including them on their menu.
Shops seemingly come and go in the arcades these days, so take advantage of them while you still can. I'm not saying they will disappear overnight, but such as the economy we live in. They are my choice destination in the city centre.
If you want further reading on these arcades, check out Cardiff Arcades Project (no relation) or why not just go and see for yourself?
