AT WORK WITH GOT BEEF

Pop-up lovers of Cardiff are in for a real treat today as I bring you an interview with Cai Pritchard of Got Beef. If you've been lucky enough to have already tried one of these burgers, then you know exactly how good that burger in the above pictures tastes. Meanwhile, you'll have to make do with an interview for now. Stop drooling and give it a read!

A brief history of Got Beef:
"Got Beef was established to offer something different than your average burger. We start with an award-winning 6oz patty made from Welsh Black beef, it's then stuffed with delicious toppings and homemade sauces. We began selling our products in a converted bus, traveling the country attending music festivals and food events. As this is a very seasonal occupation we found that a pop-up restaurant would be a great way to test out new ideas and keep our feet dry during the winter months."

Menu inspiration:
"Our menu inspiration comes from all sorts of places - TV (The Heisenburger) and countries I have travelled to and most of the time lying in bed wide awake at 3am."

Why Got Beef is vital to the Cardiff pop-up scene:
"Cardiff always seems to be a couple of years behind London and other big cities. We found it hard to find locations as landlords and business owners don't exactly understand the concept. But with the likes of Hang Fire Smokehouse, Ceviche UK and secret supper clwbs popularity, we hope to put Cardiff on the pop-up map."

On the future of Got Beef:
"Our plans for the next year are hopefully some more pop-up restaurants across the city and another successful summer of events and private parties."

Throughout November Got Beef will be at La Viva on Fridays from 7pm and at the Mackintosh Sports Club on Sundays from 12pm.
