THE PERFECT CHEESEBOARD WITH RAYMOND BLANC

With Christmas and New Year celebrations around the corner, there is plenty of food preparation and planning going on. One item that doesn't need much fuss or planning is the mighty cheeseboard. John Lewis has partnered up with chef Raymond Blanc to showcase some of his fantastic kitchenware, which is perfect for this holiday season.

Blanc has created a durable, eco friendly and stylish cheeseboard made from acacia wood. The wood is extremely tough and has the names of some of Blanc's favourite cheeses embellished into the board, which indicate the strength of the cheeses from light to strong.  

For my cheeseboard selection I opted to go with a smokey, rich Caws Cenarth Welsh cheddar, a classic French brie, some ultra-strong Roquefort and a creamy goats cheese. These four cheeses share rich textures and flavours which work well with the intended layout of the board, and also compliment each other in terms of richness.

I topped this off with some crackers and pomegranates. I love a bit of texture from my fruit, so the crunchy bite of the pomegranate seeds provided that.

This board is that perfect centerpiece for an after Christmas lunch or New Year's Eve dinner party.
